Flava D’s 10 Favourite D&B Tracks
Share
Bournemouth born Flava D’s outlook on her career seems pretty simplistic: she likes to make music…constantly. And although there’s undoubtedly a whole lot more planning and thought that goes into the thinking behind the timing and positioning of her releases, she’s maintained the purity of that initial enthusiasm and it’s helped her go from selling bundles of short loops on Myspace to headlining club nights and festivals and releasing brilliant album projects, such as her FABRICLIVE 88 mix and the TQD album UKG, in just six years.
As a core part of the Butterz camp she’s found a crew that’s positively blossomed from the incorporation of her music and as a result of that relationship she’s collaborated with luminaries like Wiley and My Nu Leng, toured the globe and been afforded a position where she’s encouraged to just make music, constantly.
With the new Hospitality On The Beach album dropping on 31st May, Flava D tells us her 10 favourite D&B tracks…

Beta 2 & Zero T – Like Yesterday
I heard this track come on the radio a few weeks ago and I instantly fell in love with it. I really love the soulful ambience combined with that jungle feel.
Trex ft Fox – What I Say
Another favourite of mine from last year. I love the way Fox rides the beat. There’s not too much going on but enough energy for it to work in a variety of D&B sets.
Brookes Brothers – Good Thing
This track gives me those old skool Hospital feels from the early 2000s. Instant fave.
Flava D – Human Trumpet
My second ever D&B track. Not many people know that it’s actually my own voice sampled in. Hence the title ha!
London Elektricity – Funkopolis
Tony never fails to produce forward thinking D&B and this track blew me away! I envision a whole scene from an action movie to this song.
Chase & Status ft Irah – Program
An absolute stomper for 2019. This turns a rave into a mosh pit!
Shy FX – Bad Boy Business
I love how Shy starts this track on a romantic vibe and switches it up into a gully drop. It has that perfect balance.
1991 – Midnight
Soulful keys instantly grab me and I like the simplistic vibe to this track yet intelligent chord progression.
Kings Of The Rollers Ft Chimpo – Shella
Kings Of The Rollers have smashed it with their new album and this track is definitely one of the standout ones for me.
Lenzman – Old Song
Lenzman has got that liquid soulful vibe on lock. This is probably my favourite from the album.
Foreign Concept – Jaipur (Villem remix)
Not so new but still a banger!
