Captain Plugins presents the Music Innovation 2020 contest. This is an exciting opportunity to create a new style of music, win amazing prizes from some of the best companies in music production and have your music heard by the industry’s hottest producers, DJs and engineers.

To enter, create an original track that combines together elements from at least two different musical styles.  It could be a unique combination of existing genres, or a sound so original it doesn’t fit any current definitions. We’ll be awarding prizes in five categories; “Introducing a New Music Genre”,  “Best Songwriting / Vocals”,  “Best Sound Design/Production”, “Best Hook” and “Best Crazy Combo”.

Submissions will be judged by an incredible panel including Anna Lunoe, David Guetta, Dani Deahl, DJ Prince, illFactor, Jessy Covets, Kaskade, Laura Escude, L.Dre, Lorne Padman (Dim Mak), Marcelo CIC, Margaret Luthar, Mau Montekio (our 2018 contest winner), Ocean, Sofi Tukker, and Tank God.

The top five entries will be awarded amazing prize packages from Ableton, Artiphon, Arturia, Baby Audio, beyerdynamic, Cableguys, D16 Group, EastWest, Eventide, Fender, Focusrite, IK Multimedia, iZotope, Novation, Roland Cloud, Quantica, Sample Tools by Cr2, Sennheiser, Slate Digital, Softube, Soundtheory, SUBPAC, u-he, Universal Audio and V-MODA.

To enter the contest, you have to combine at least 2 music genres in one song

This contest is for artists and music producers who can combine 2 ideas into one track.

For example: Flamenco + Trap? Rap + Classical?

In short: create your own genre. Be original.

If your track makes it to the Top 5 of all submissions, you’ll win incredible prizes worth at least $3000.

The grand prize winner takes home over $10,000 worth of music gear made by the best companies in the world.

Submissions are accepted until October 21st, 2020.
