Echomatics drops ‘This Moment’ EP on 170+ Recordings

Echomatics delivers us four beautiful cuts of his signature sound, deep liquid filled with texture and depth on his new EP ‘This Moment’. Each track tells a story as it progresses throughout its lifespan. This Vancouver-based artist is right at home on 170+ Recordings, sharing the same passion and geographic location. With a couple of solid EPs under his belt, Echomatics is someone to keep an eye on and 170+ are happy to share ‘This Moment’ with us.

‘Fading away’ has darker undertones while staying true to the overall vibe of the EP, it develops into an impressive arp-filled climax before fading away into the breakdown.

The title track ‘This Moment’ sets the stage with a heartfelt atmosphere and vocals that pull us into the drop. We end up with a warm bassline full of movement as ethereal vocals carry us along.

Following on ‘Under the layers’ builds tension before it releases us onto a journey through lush soundscapes, with a hypnotic synth keeping pace.

Closing out the EP ‘Everywhere’ pulls us in with a hint of vocals before presenting us with the whole story, driving synths neatly tucked into tight drum work ends this release with class.

Eric Simmons, better known as Echomatics is a Drum & Bass producer from Vancouver, Canada – the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples–Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations. Echomatics has been exploring electronic music for over 20 years. Music has always been a motivation and outlet for him, starting in his early 20’s after meeting a fantastic sound engineer who blessed him with his first computer and a copy of Cubase. Since that moment, creating music has been a crucial part of his life and kept him going through the good and bad times.

Over the past few years, with the motivation of his extraordinary life partner, he worked up the courage to share his passion and love for music and Drum & Bass. As a Dad, he likes to try and make music that even his kids get excited about. Liquid Drum & Bass is one of his biggest influences, but many amazing artists kept his soul whole. Artists like Mad Professor, Andy C, Aphrodite, DRS, DJ Trance, Voodoo Warriors of Love, and Bad Data.
