Legendary radio DJ Mary Anne Hobbs will take to fabric for a pioneering all-female takeover aptly named All Queens on Saturday 12th March in celebration of International Women’s Day 2022 with an all-female line-up and all-female staff.
The event marks an exciting collaboration between fabric’s long-standing Programming Director Judy Griffith and Mary Anne Hobbs, whose previous events with All Queens – including at Manchester International Festival (2019) and All Points East (2021) – has put dynamic and emerging female electronic acts in the spotlight.
This incredible all-female line-up on 12th March showcases the cross-generational talent in electronic music and celebrates a range of genres. Laurel Halo, joining forces with Courtesy for a special B2B, AFRODEUTSCHE, TAAHLIAH, Elkka (Winner of BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix of the Year 2021), Jossy Mitsu (fabric resident), Jamz Supernova and Nia Archives are among the line-up featuring some of the world’s most formidable, renowned and rising DJs.
“It’s been so exciting to design the All Queens all-female takeover for International Women’s Day with Judy Griffith, who is the Godmother at fabric. You’ll find women working in every role in the club; on the door, behind the bar, working as sound engineers… joining a formidable line-up of all-female DJs who will play right across the electronic spectrum. We are elevating women who create the unforgettable night-life experience we love, in every dimension of the Clubbing profession. It’s gonna be a wild night, and everybody is welcome.” – Mary Anne Hobbs
In addition to the all-female DJ line-up, women will work in every role at the club; on the door, at the bar, engineering sound and security. Although the event is being programmed, staffed and performed by women, everyone is welcome to fabric on 12th March.
Mary Anne and Judy share the same vision: to celebrate and elevate women and inspire the next generation, showing that women are capable of any role available in the industry. All Queens at fabric showcases this shared ethos: on 12th March an all-female line-up and all-female staff, crew, technicians and bookers will celebrate and put a deserved lens on, the extraordinary women working in music and club culture.
