Soul of Hex Joins the Spotlight Mix Series on Data Transmission

Share

We’re thrilled to welcome Soul of Hex to the Spotlight Mix Series this week, bringing their unique blend of house and techno to our platform. The Tijuana-based duo, Gerardo and Emanuel Cedillo, have been making waves for over 15 years, crafting deep, jazzy grooves that pull from the raw sensuality of classic house and techno.

From their early days as Kry-Lon leading Tijuana’s “new rave” movement to their critically acclaimed work as Soul of Hex, the Cedillo brothers have consistently evolved as producers, DJs, and multi-instrumentalists.

Their track ‘Lip Reading’ was remixed by the legendary Larry Heard, and they’ve performed at prestigious events like Dekmantel Festival. With releases on labels such as Delusions of Grandeur, Funnuvojere Records, and the legendary Underground Resistance, their reputation for crafting astral deep house odysseys continues to grow.

Stay tuned for their Spotlight Mix, dropping this week on Data Transmission, and explore their back catalog for a taste of what’s to come.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
