Dimitri From Paris Preps ‘House Of Disco’

For any disco and house heads out there, Dimitri from Paris is somewhat of a hero. His vast knowledge of music is practically unprecedented and his loyalty to the beloved Defected brand has proved unwavering over the past 10 years. Thus, as certified lovers of all things house and disco you can imagine our excitement at news Dimitri From Paris has mixed a new two-disc compilation called In The House Of Disco.

Undertaken for Defected Records the mix looks to showcase the common ground between disco and house and according to Dimitri himself serve as a tribute to recently departed  Frankie Knuckles adding “I would like to dedicate this collection to the recently deceased Godfather Of House, Frankie Knuckles.”

Spread across two discs, the first disc is a more disco orientated affair with remixes of his own of classics by the likes of Chic, Sister Sledge and Diana Ross lining up against more recent productions from contemporary scene luminaries such as Todd Terje, Solomun and Shit Robot. With a mix of old and new it’s fair to say the disc lives up to its title of  “Neo Vintage Disco,” as does disc two to it’s name of “Neo Vintage House”. Presenting house tracks both new and old the second disc sees the likes of Frankie Knuckles and Inner City strutting their stuff alongside modern producers Disclosure and Hercules & Lover Affair.
