Lady of The House announces Cultural Exhibition championing women in music

After the success of the first-ever book Celebrating, Championing and Honouring women in Dance Music, Lady Of The House, the female-led organisation joined forces with the world’s first fully hybrid venue with an exact digital twin, Lost Horizon, to host a pioneering Cultural Exhibition dedicated to women in electronic music.

Commencing International Women’s Day, 8th March – 12th March.

The programme will kick off with an Under 18’s day which will consist of educating students on a variety of topics, including; DEI, music production, DJing, artist management, and much more.

The programme includes: A music event, educational/industry-related workshops, empowering panels, production/DJ masterclasses, an art installation and Lady Of The House book reading from authors.

Supported by industry players who want to level the playing field: Defected Records, Focusrite, Lakota, Halo, Orange Rooms, Mas Vida, Resident Advisor plus more.

Lady of the House, V&A Dundee and designer Jenny Elliott collaborated to produce ‘Women In Club Culture’ music map alongside a series of visual content. The limited-edition art will be available to exclusively buy at the Lady Of The House Exhibition.

  • Panels and Activities @ Cultural Exhibition include: Artist management, Cutting edge state of the art performances, History of Women in Dance, Overcoming barriers,   Q+A, mental health in the music industry matters, DEI, event/tour management masterclass and many more TBA.
  • Workshops @ Cultural Exhibition include: DJ masterclasses, production workshops, vocalist masterclass, music marketing and many more TBA.

The exhibition kicks off the Lady of the House UK Tour which will see world class acts paired with exciting upcoming talent on all women lineups across a number of cities from March 2022:

  • 11th March – Lost Horizon | Charlie Tee & Support
  • 12th March – Halo, Bournemouth | Arielle Free & Support
  • More Dates TBA in Sheffield/London/Manchester/Southampton and Leeds this year.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
