D-Zire has been rocking the UK DnB scene for a while now. She kicked things off back in 2008 in Southampton, belting out vocals for RSR Recordings. You might’ve caught her voice on some classic Happy Hardcore tunes that made their way onto vinyl, even scoring a spot on the worldwide ‘Hardcore Till I Die’ album. Then she teamed up with Diggy Sty-lus, hitting up the Big Chill Festival in 2010 for a live PA on the BBC Introducing Stage.
Fast forward to 2016, and D-Zire began teaching herself to mix. Next thing you know, she’s spinning on every DnB radio show worth mentioning in the UK. From Kool FM to The Goat Shed to The Junglist Network, she’s been a regular. And it’s not just radio – she’s been sharing decks with legends like Ragga Twins, MC Blacka, and Demolition Man, making waves all over the country.
Her DnB journey started with influences like DJ Hazard and DJ Hybrid, but she’s since dived deep into Ragga and Jungle vibes, even laying down her own tracks. The recognition started pouring in, with a nomination for Vocalist Of The Year in the We Love Jungle Awards 2017, and later scooping up the up-and-coming DnB vocalist award at the Twisted Awards in 2023.
When she’s not tearing up the dance floor with her energetic DJ style, you can catch D-Zire spreading the vibes all over the UK – from London to Bristol to Cambridge. She’s hit up some top-notch clubs too, like Scala London and Egg Club.
And she’s not slowing down anytime soon. With her own show on Thames Delta, dropping bi-weekly mixes, and holding down residencies with Synchronizes Soundz and United Colours Of Jungle, D-Zire’s keeping the beats fresh and the crowd hyped!
I’m thrilled to have D-Zire as my torch bearer for this year’s International Women’s Day mix on Renegade Riddims. We’ve worked together in the past and I’m not entirely sure why it’s taken me so long to ask her to do a mix for me…I guess it’s true what they say…Good things DO come to those who wait!
At the start of each year, I ensure my schedule is balanced with alternating weeks for males and females on the mix series. Unfortunately, for whatever reasons, this never seems to pan out the way I hope it would and I think 2023 was the worst year for the balance I was trying to achieve since I started. I don’t dwell on it though, I fix my crown and aim to do better the following year! I’m always on the lookout for new artists to help along the way and dig deep on SoundCloud and social media platforms to find them.
That brings us to today’s mix which, in celebration of IWD2024, D-Zire has curated with a higher inclusion of female producers than usual. There’s music from herself, as well as DJ Rap, Sweetpea, Iris, Gifta, Jaynie, Leanne Louise, T Lex, Mandidextrous, Tempa, Lottie Jones, A Little Sound, Missrepresent, Katalyst, Jenni Groves, Charlotte Devaney, Dazee, Euphonique and more!

Sum up this mix in 10 words…
This mix is specially put together to include more female artists in DnB/Jungle in honour of International Women’s Day.
What’s your personal favourite track on it?
It has to be Selecta J-Man & MC Spyda – Foundation Style, coming out on Born On Road, it has the bounce and heavy vocals that we love in a rave!
What’s the special ingredient in this mix?
I do admit I love a double drop, and this mix has plenty of them!
Tell us about your next EP…
I am actually putting together an LP of my tracks past and present with some remixes from some familiar names that should be coming out in December but in the meantime, I have some releases coming up on DreambassUK Records – I definitely recommend to check them out!
What have you got coming up?
People can catch me playing at Synchronized Soundz Thrapston 23rd March and Dreambass Records are holding their first event in Manchester in April with Exile headlining, you can catch the event information on facebook for both! I also have my regular four weekly show on Thames Delta Radio.

The last rave I went to was United Colours Of Jungle and hopefully attending the next one on the 20th April! Always a great vibe!
