Manifest & Tanc drop ‘Stingray / Monika’ on Deception Recordings

Share

Manifest and Tanc (formerly known as Meth) are back together on Deception Recordings with two dark and gritty minimal Drum & Bass tracks ‘Stingray’ and ‘Monika’.

Both artists have fine-tuned their unique sounds and made major contributions to the label in recent years. As the label boss, Manifest’s distinct dark and techy Drum & Bass style is a core part of Deception Recordings. Tanc, with a history of regular releases and collaborations with artists like Audio, Prolix, and Xtrah, has also become a staple on the label.

With a history of working together on projects like ‘Nitty Gritty,’ ‘System Error,’ and the ‘Suicide Run’ EP, their partnership has grown stronger, creating a precise and cohesive sound that’s evident in their latest release.

‘Stingray’ kicks things off with reverb-heavy Rhodes chords, dubbed-out vocal chops, and pitched-down hi-hats, giving the impression it might turn into a jazzy, liquid track. But after 32 bars of calm, a powerful vocal sample breaks through, leading to a seismic bassline that showcases Manifest and Tanc’s signature sub-heavy sound.

On the flip side, ‘Monika’ makes it clear from the start that it’s a heavyweight minimal Drum & Bass track. Dissonant, filtered dystopian soundscapes and tight drums build up to an apocalyptic drop, featuring ethereal vocal chops and twisted minimal basslines. It’s a track designed to keep any crowd hooked on a big sound system.

Today we premiere ‘Stingray’ which you can check out below. The 2 tracker drops on Monday 1st July, make sure you grab a copy from here!
