David Berrie lands on DISTRIKT Sound with new two-track EP, ‘thinkaboutit’. The NYC-born artist makes his first appearance on the label of the Burning Man favourites following music via Vatos Locos and Personality Disorder Music, with his new EP set to land on 28th June 2024.

From releases on Hot Creations and Hottrax, including a stand-out collaboration with label boss Jamie Jones, through to material via Vatos Locos and Personality Disorder Music, NYC’s David Berrie is an individual embedded with the Big Apple’s underground scene.

His grounded yet obscure vision of house and techno is reflected in his DJ sets, unifying dancefloors locally, including Apollo Studio, and globally within a long list of renowned institutions such as DC-10. Unveiling his first EP of 2024, he now makes his first appearance on the in-house label of Burning Man favourites DISTRIKT, delivering a two-track project that spans the Atlantic from Ibiza to New York.

The ‘thinkaboutit’ EP originated from a little studio setup from last summer in Ibiza. With an imaginative summer vibe in effect, the project draws inspiration from a retro pop era reminiscent of synth-driven sounds from the 80s.” – David Berrie.

With its rolling and slinking rhythm, ‘thinkaboutit’ is a trippy and immersive cut that fully embodies Berrie’s late-night hazy house sound, while ‘Sometimes In A Mood’ is a playful excursion, delivering a vibrant amalgamation of throwback synth-led influences with vocoder-esque voices and lively leads.

David Berrie ‘thinkaboutit’ drops via DISTRIKT Sound on 28th June 2024 – you can grab it on Beatport.
