Audius, the largest decentralized music community, is transforming how artists monetize their music by expanding its game-changing marketplace. Now, artists worldwide can set their own pricing, control how they distribute their music, and receive direct payments from fans—all within the Audius platform.
Fans can easily support their favorite artists by using their credit cards to make payments in USDC, which artists and rights holders can convert into any currency of their choice. This feature, previously available to select artists, is now rolling out globally, giving thousands of artists new revenue streams and creative ways to engage with fans.
For the first time, 10% of every payment will go toward the Audius community treasury, with funds allocated through on-chain governance. A proposal is pending to finalize this change, further empowering the Audius community to shape the platform’s future.
“It’s amazing to see how artists have leveraged our music marketplace to not only engage with their fans but create entirely new revenue streams,” said Roneil Rumburg,
Co-Founder and CEO of Audius. “From selling downloads to launching creative contests, artists are using the marketplace in ways we never imagined.”
Artists like Kato On The Track and MadeinTYO have already found success through Audius. Kato generated revenue through download sales, while MadeinTYO sold beats and invited fans to create songs using his stems, ultimately flying a contest winner to Tokyo for a unique collaboration.
With partnerships with major players like DistroKid, EMPIRE, Nettwerk Music, and licensing deals with Kobalt, Audius continues to build on its mission to support independent artists and labels. Audius’ recent deals with ASCAP, BMI, and other performing rights organizations further establish it as a key player in the global music landscape.
