Ink set to unleash ‘The History Collection – Vol 1 (Remastered)’

Share

As part of London trio The Architex, Ink released some of Drum & Bass’ most profoundly beautiful music on the foundational Basement Records. He quickly became a favourite of LTJ Bukem and laid down the blueprint for what would become known as “Liquid” more than twenty years later.

In 1996 Ink formed his own Architecture Recordings, showcasing more of his deep unorthodox approach to Drum & Bass and other genres of dance music. This collection takes a “snap” shot at some of Ink’s most important soulful Drum & Bass moments on Architecture/Architecture Recordings.

In light of all the new music Ink has forthcoming and has recently released on notable and historic labels alongside cohorts Loxy and Resound (label wise we’re talking R&S, Headz, ILR Studios and Hospital) Ink thought it would be a good time to remaster and reintroduce some of his landmark tracks to the public. Ink‘s pedigree and history as an artist is unmatched- there aren’t many people that can say they were residents at Metalheadz at Blue Note, Hardware at The End and Speed at Mars Bar in their formative years, these are the clubs that came to define the genre we love now.

The EP has 5 remastered tracks ranging from 1997 to 2014, we’ve got Bukem fave ‘Altitude’, club classic ‘Feel Da Heat’ and more. The earlier tracks on this EP really were the blueprints of what we know now as ‘liquid’.

Diving deep into the mind and soul of the listener, Ink takes us “Back To The Future” with this step by step journey through the mystic cosmos. ‘The History Collection – Vol 1’ is a compilation filled with smooth rich and lush textures. Ink has always been a producer who fearlessly explores the full spectrum of Drum & Bass. Architecture Recordings a new favourite?? With this remastered collection, that is what is hoped…

Today we premiere the remastered version of Ink & J. Dub ‘Feel Da Heat’, which is impeccable, as you might expect from a pioneer such as Ink. Check it out below. The ‘The History Collection – Vol 1 (Remastered)’ drops this Friday 16th April. Make sure you grab a copy using the purchase button beneath the Soundcloud player!
