York drops ‘Relapse / Neptune’ on Motive Audio

Motive Audio is proud to present its second release featuring the very talented York. This release features two tracks, ‘Relapse’ and ‘Neptune’, that are sure to leave a lasting impression on dark drum & bass fans.
The first track, ‘Relapse’, is a haunting and atmospheric journey through the depths of dark drum & bass. With its minimal drums, heavy sub-bass, and dub-style sound effects, ‘Relapse’ is a track that will blow you away literally.
The second track, ‘Neptune’, is a straight rattler of a tune. With its brutal rolling subs, hard-running drums, robotic leads and futuristic effects, ‘Neptune’ will transport you to another world. York is a bass-music producer and DJ based in Brighton, UK, with his focus on developing a sound that blends elements of dub, UK dubstep, techno and 2000s drum & bass.
In addition to producing music, he has also performed in almost all of the relevant clubs and venues in Brighton, often taking care of alternative vinyl sets in The Arch or Concorde 2 and recently warming up for motive sessions with 140 in Room 2 of Volks.
Besides focusing on production, he has been involved with Motive Sessions, both as a DJ and behind the scenes. Motive is one of Brighton’s long-running events focusing on the darker, more minimal side of drum & bass. In addition to the events, part of a rebranding in 2023, owner and head honcho Ryan Mains has set up a label to release music, aptly named Motive Audio with two York singles scheduled already.
With a growing number of releases on labels such as 31 Records and DSCI4, York’s tunes have gained steady support in the Brighton scene and started reaching a wider audience as well.
