DT887 – Crusy

Share

To speak about Crusy is to mention one of Spain’s more influential artists of recent years.

The Madrid based artist started his journey back in 2011, mixing his first records and exploring his own productions at only 15 years old, even at that age he was already captivated by electronic dance music.

Crusy drops his biggest record yet on Toolroom!

This Spanish superstar in the making has been on a meteoric rise since his Toolroom Trax release ‘Selecta’ blew him up on dance floors across the World in 2022 with support from Carl Cox, Nic Fanciulli & John Summit.

Since then, he has signed with Toolroom management and is releasing frequently on Defected, Claptone’s Golden Recordings and Danny Howard’s Nothing Else Matters whilst collaborating with the likes of HUGEL, Dombresky and Low Steppa racking up an impressive 20m streams in the process. His diary is jam-packed with shows all over the world including USA, Ibiza, Mexico, Canada and more.

This record hits that sweet spot where the underground meets the accessible. A peak-time, acid-laced Tech House roller that borders on Techno at times, with that ‘Hey Boy, Hey Girl’ vocal sample made famous by The Chemical Brothers in 1999. A DJ’s dream record, this is a huge moment for Crusy!

Today, he joins us on the podcast for the first time. Listen to it below, on Mixcloud or iTunes here.

Sum up this podcast in 10 words…

Where every legend ever has presented their fresh new music.

What’s your personal favorite track on it?

Definitely my last single on Toolroom, Hey Girls B-Boys. One of my personal favorite productions.

What’s the special ingredient in this mix?

Pretty much everything you can listen is mine, or edited by myself. I like to keep my mixes very personal, and with a variety of genres through it.

Tell us about your next release.

It is called Hey Girls, B-Boys, it’s out now on Toolroom and features the iconic vocal that Chemical Brothers made big in their single back in the 90s. It’s something underground but accessible at the same time, and the support is actually being insane, from Patrick Topping, to Meduza, to Adam Beyer… I’m so thankful to have all these massive plays on it!

What have you got coming up?

I’m pretty excited! Loads of shows till January, almost full agenda to be honest, and preparing a big start of the next year with two strong releases on Toolroom, together with two big remixes to Gene Farris & Roland Clark to name a few. Both are in the mix btw!

And finally, do you have a special message for our readers?

Go for your dreams. Few years ago I was struggling to put my music out & have gigs, and yesterday closed Amnesia Terrace with Claptone at The Masquerado. Things are closer than they look, put your head down and work for it! Pleasure to be here buddies, best!

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
