DT731 – Noizu

Share

Los Angeles based Noizu is quickly climbing through the ranks of house music. Making his debut on the Chris Lake and Skrillex curated ‘HOWSLA’ in 2017 with ‘Lasers’ before catching the eyes and ears of French label boss Tchami. His follow up release saw the Jungle EP, an instant live anthem supported by Diplo, Oliver Heldens, A-Trak, Jauz, Malaa and more.

A champion for other new talent, Noizu has always given away his own stems post-release to encourage other young producers and has released several remix EPs highlighting the best new talent he can find.

With a growing urge to adopt a label boss attitude, he set up Techné Records summer of 2018 with a view to working club releases globally and giving new talent a platform to show their skills. The debut release, a collaboration with Dombresky, could not have gone better. ‘Rave Alarm’ was launched and an instant festival anthem was subsequently made “Hottest Record in the World” by Annie Mac for BBC Radio 1. A top 10 Aria club track in Australia, this track has now been licensed and will receive a big push with video in 2019. November 2018 saw Noizu make his LA debut, a packed headline show at Sound Nightclub. An incredible landmark for a project barely 18 months old but a true testament to the pace and quality of which the project is heading towards.

The year will undoubtedly continue to deliver more top-quality music on a host of respected labels as the ever-growing list of A-List support, co-signs and fan awareness grows.

Today, he joins on the podcast for the first time. Listen to it below, on Mixcloud or iTunes here.

Sum up this podcast in 10 words:
Noizu here bringing you heaters only, get your dancing shoes.

What’s your personal favourite track on it?
There is a new song by LP Giobbi that is coming out on my label ‘Techne’ this year.  I’m really hyped for that one to come out, she’s making big moves at the moment!

What’s the special ingredient in this mix?
There are some older Noizu tracks, there are some newer ones too.  Plus a mix of tracks released & unreleased from my label to add some extra fire

Tell us about your next release?
I have a new remix of Sonny Fodera & Diplo dropping next.  I’m really happy with how it turned out, it’s super ravey and old school but with a modern flip.

What have you got coming up?
This year I am focussing purely on singles and maybe a few remixes.  One of my main aims is to also keep building my record label ‘Techne’ and build the roster.

And finally, do you have a special message for our readers?
Thanks for listening, hope you enjoy this mix!  Catch you at festivals soon I hope.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
