Dispatch Recordings veterans NC-17 and Philth first clicked during their back-to-back sets at Outlook Festival and Dispatch parties across the UK. Their shared love for the golden era of Drum & Bass and seamless mixing styles quickly laid the groundwork for a creative partnership. That connection has now resulted in the ‘Last of a Dying Breed’ EP series—a nod to the classic sounds they both love, reimagined with a fresh twist.

NC-17, hailing from Toronto, is known for his raw, cinematic take on Drum & Bass. Drawing inspiration from his passion for grindhouse horror films, he’s built a reputation for crafting high-energy, dynamic tracks. With releases on iconic labels like Metalheadz, Viper, and Dispatch, NC-17’s music is as visceral as it is innovative.

Philth brings a deep and soulful edge to the table, combining atmospheric textures with razor-sharp percussion. With a catalogue spanning Metalheadz, Commercial Suicide, and Dispatch, his music bridges old-school vibes with forward-thinking production. He’s all about keeping the essence of Drum & Bass alive while evolving its sound.

The first volume of ‘Last of a Dying Breed’ is a bold statement, packed with heavy-hitting tracks that deliver dancefloor energy and timeless appeal. From rolling basslines to gritty funk-inspired grooves, this EP proves that Drum & Bass is far from a “dying breed.”

Together, NC-17 and Philth are not just honouring the past—they’re pushing the sound forward, setting new standards for modern tech Drum & Bass.
