Detlef returns to Moon Harbour with ‘Backflash’

Share

Moon Harbour regular Detlef is back on the label with two more of his firing club weapons.

By any measure, Detlef is one of house music’s main men. He has released on all of the scene’s most contemporary labels from this one to Relief to Repopulate Mars. He has over 18 million streams on Spotify and has topped the Beatport charts several times, all while laying down serious sets at the world’s best clubs. These two latest cuts for Moon Harbour offer different vibes for two different moments in the party.

Up first is the smartly executed ‘Backflash’, a turbocharged tech house cut with chunky drums beneath explosive vocal samples and funky riffs. It’s a track that combines physical drive and emotional release and is a playful party starter that cannot fail to make its mark. Then comes ‘OffGrid’ which is a more heads-down dancer with razor-sharp drum programming. It’s kinetic and punchy, with whirring synths up top and trippy little melodic details that take you late into the night next to the freaky vocals.

Detlef has served up more of his floor-filling house gold here.

We premiere ‘Backflash’ on Data Transmission, check it out here and grab it on Bandcamp & Beatport.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
